Digital Literacies and Me

So for a task that I was asked to do was to give my own definition of digital literacy. It's been a struggle getting the difference between digital literacy and digital skills down but I finally think I have a better understanding of it. My definition of digital literacy is the ability to operate a computer, smartphone, tablet with the good understanding on how to operate and access information and communication. I've also learned that there's a lot more behind the scenes when it comes to digital literacy. Anybody can learn how to operate Facebook? Or to do word processing? But how to properly and ethically use a device and gain all its means.

I'm struggling with finding some digital literacies that I could improve on but in general I guess it would be searching the web because I'm so used to just Googling things which isn't bad but I would like to know of some other sound places to do my research. And I would also like to work on my navigation skills. Sometimes I will have multiple windows up open at a time trying to get to one place.

Brain fried

I'm sitting here on the couch trying to relax my brain. I know it's been awhile since I've taken any college class and I thought oh I'll be fine I'll be able to jump back into this I know what I'm doing. Clearly I got in way over my head online classes are way harder. While I've learned some pretty cool resources that I've never heard of and then I've been using like the Mastodon website which is similar to Twitter. But learning about digital skills and digital literacy it's kind of confusing me a little bit...

So here I am sitting on my couch thinking what did I get myself into? Well in case your wondering I'm figuring out how I'm gonna post a photo challenge I did for a activity in this class I'm taking. Learning in the Digital Age thru Saylor Academy. Considering I just got an apartment and I work a lot I figured I need to do something with my life so that's when I decided that I was going to take this course. And here I stumble across blogger.com and I haven't even used this in years...

Being Weird

Now I'm no expert on weirdness but I know I'm weird. I have a weird sense of humor. I'll laugh at things that some people wouldn't laugh or understand. But I try to be simple and sometimes it doesn't work...now we all can't be NORMAL! What does normal really mean?

Yeah standards can suck it...I know. I've never been able to reach certain people I know standards. I'm never going to be that someone or something. I decide who I am going to be and what I am going to do. So until then I am just some WEIRD CHICK TALKING!
